Inaugural Houston Club Team Championship

Tournament Details

We are excited to announce the start of what we hope will become an exciting annual Houston Golf Tradition for many years to come. The Inaugural Houston Club Team Championship will start as an invitation to invite some of the most prestigious clubs around the area to compete as a team to determine which club around the Greater Houston Area has the best collection of golfers.

Field/Eligibility:

The field is limited to the first 16 teams to register. Each team shall consist of six players (i.e., five club members and one of the club’s professionals or six club members). Professionals that are not on the club facility’s staff but are dues-paying members at the club are entitled to serve as that club’s professional representative. All golfers must be active members of the same club. Club members that are not serving as the club’s professional must be 25 years or older and maintain an amateur status.

Entry Fee:

$1950 ($325 per player)
Entry fee includes 3 rounds of golf at Gus Wortham, Carts, & Tee Gifts.

Registration Procedure:

Registration will be available on the HGA website on April 1st, 2024. Confirmed entries will be notified via email of their acceptance. The tournament committee is trying to ensure the strongest field for this event and will be accepting entries based on team handicap and the individual player performance in local, state, and national golf tournaments.

Format:

Day 1 - FOURBALL
• All 6 players play. Each club will establish their 3 Fourball Teams and the 2 low Fourball scores will be recorded. All scores will be at scratch (no handicaps).

Day 2 - STROKE PLAY
• All 6 players play. The low 4 individual gross scores from each team will be recorded.

The winning team will be determined by the low total of two fourball scores and four individual scores for the tournament. All scores will be at scratch (no handicaps).

Practice Round:

A block of tee times will be reserved at Gus Wortham for players on Friday, July 12th. The deadline to reserve tee times will be Wednesday, July 3rd. After this date, the available tee times will be released to the general public.

Saturday, November 9 Fourball Format

  • Tee Times off of holes 1 & 10 starting at 8 a.m.

  • All players play

  • 2 of the 3 fourball team scores will be recorded

  • Lunch available after play

Sunday, November 10 Stroke Play Format

  • Tee Times off of holes 1 & 10 starting at 8 a.m.

  • All players play

  • The low 4 of 6 individual scores from each team will be recorded
