Senior - 55+; Super Senior - 65+

Players 65+ may elect to play in the Senior division. It is the responsibility of the player to inform the HGA that they would like to play in the Senior division prior to their qualifier registration closing.

Players must have at minimum 6 months permanent residency in the Greater Houston area which includes the following counties: Brazoria, Chambers, Fort Bend, Galveston, Harris, Liberty, Montgomery, and Waller.

Entries are open to male amateur golfers who: (a) have current USGA Handicap Indexes issued from a USGA “Authorized Golf Club” that do not exceed 15.4 and (b) minimum 6 months permanent residency in the Greater Houston area which includes the following counties: Brazoria, Chambers, Fort Bend, Galveston, Harris, Liberty, Montgomery, and Waller. A list of “Authorized Golf Clubs” licensed to use the USGA Handicap System may be found online at www.usga.org under Handicapping. Exempt players must also meet these requirements

Amateur Exemptions

(1) Past Champions since 2018; (2) 2022 Top Ten Finishers & Ties; (3) Texas Statewide Champions -- 2022 Mid-Amateur, 2022 Mid-Amateur Match Play, 2022 Amateur (4) Qualifiers for USGA Championships – 2022 U.S. Mid-Amateur, 2022 U.S. Amateur, 2022 U.S. Open, (5) From the 2022 Medalist Golf Association Point Standings, season ending Points Leader; (6) From the 2021 Texas Golf Association South Region Point Standings, top five finishers; (7) 2022 TGA South Region Amateur Champion; (9) 2022 Greater Houston Senior City Amateur Champion (Senior Division).

Senior Amateur Exemptions

(1) Past Champions Senior Division since 2018 (consecutive years); 1a) Past Champions Super Senior Division 2018 (consecutive years); (2) 2022 Top Ten Finishers Senior Division & Ties; 2a) 2022 Super Senior Division Top Five Finishers & Ties; (3) Texas Statewide Champions-- 2022 Senior Amateur Champion; (4) Qualifiers for the following USGA Championships – 2022 U.S. Senior Amateur, 2022 U.S. Senior Open; (5) 2022 Greater Houston City Amateur Champion (must meet age requirement)

Players may sign up for an additional qualifier after an unsuccessful attempt. However, the player will be placed on the waiting list for that site. The player will be included in the qualifier field on the day of the qualifier on a space available basis.
