HGA & CHARITY

Houston Golf Association (HGA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to making our community better through youth development. It uses the Shell Houston Open PGA TOUR event and other golf-related activities to generate funding.

Highlights for 2011 include:

Providing funding for our benefiting charities
Awarding six HGA Academic Scholarship recipients from
Reaching more than 70,000 young people (K-5th grade) in more than 150 schools in 12 school districts through The First Tee school program
Expanding The First Tee of Greater Houston programing at its campuses at Redstone and at Houston Oaks Country Club and Family Sports Retreat
Providing a moderately-priced competitive Junior Golf Program for young people 12-18
Helping other non-profit agencies use the power of golf for fundraising through the Shell Houston Open Birdies for Charity Program
Being a steward of the game, staging a boys and girls Greater Houston championship along with a men's and senior men's championship
