The First Tee of Greater Houston The First Tee of Greater Houston is operated by the Houston Golf Association. Two facilities --The First Tee of Greater Houston at Redstone and The First Tee of Greater Houston at Houston Oaks -- are staffed by HGA employees. Awarded to the Houston Golf Association The First Tee of Greater Houston at Redstone, which opened in April of 2004, provides a place where youngsters not only learn to play golf, but also learn invaluable life skills. The First Tee of Greater Houston at Houston Oaks began offering small classes in 2009 and opened its campus facilities in March of 2010. Research has proven that our participants are learning and using life skills such as goal setting, interpersonal communication, self-management and resistance skills in their daily lives.
