ELECTED DIRECTORS Jim Berry is Chairman of the HGA Board of Directors. He is a Shareholder in the law firm of Chamberlain, Hrdlicka, White, Williams & Martin. A member since 1997, he served as the organization's General Counsel 2000-2008. He was Vice Chairman of the Board in 2009-2010. Berry also served as Vice Chairman of the Shell Houston Open Hospitality Committees for three years. (1 year remaining on the board) Frank Gruen is Vice Chairman of the HGA Board of Directors and chairman of the Audit Committee. Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Friedkin Companies, Inc, Gruen is a past chairman of the Memorial Hermann Hospital Foundation. A member since 2003, he has worked on the Marshals, Roping and Information Center Committees at the Shell Houston Open. He is the owner of Kurz & Co., a distribution company specializing in bakery products for large institutional customers in Texas. He joined the HGA in 2006 and was the co-recipient of the Terry Russ Shell Houston Open Service Award in 2007. In 2009 and 2010 he served as Vice Chairman – Tournament Support for the Shell Houston Open and formerly chaired the Food and Beverage Committee. (2 years remaining on the board) Pat Weston is the Treasurer of the HGA Board of Directors. Active with HGA since 2003, he served as Chairman 2009-2010 and Secretary 2008, Vice-Chair Tournament Support for the 2008, 2007 and 2006 Shell Houston Open. Formerly president and CEO of a transportation company, he retired in 2000 but is still Executive Director for World Net Associates. (2 years remaining on the board) Dick Edwards, a former Special Agent with the FBI, is the President and CEO of R.A. Edwards, Inc. and Managing Director of the Rodriguez Group, a wholly owned subsidiary. His firm provides professional security consulting, investigative and management services. An HGA member since 1998, Edwards received the 2003 Earl Elliott HGA Member of the Year Award. Edwards served as Shell Houston Open Vice Chairman – Security and Public Safety from 2006-2008 and chaired the tournament Security Committee in 2009-2010. (3 years remaining on the board) Tom Forestier is a trial lawyer and Managing Shareholder of the Houston office of Winstead PC as well as a member of the firm’s Energy and Environmental Law and Commercial Litigation Practice Groups. He recently served as chairman of the Executive Board of Northwest Assistance Ministries. An HGA since 1997, Forestier now serves as General Counsel for the HGA and chairs the legal committee. (3 years remaining on the board) APPOINTED DIRECTORS Herschel Sikes is the General Chairman of the 2011 Shell Houston Open. An HGA member since 1999, Sikes was Vice Chair of Tournament Operations in 2010 and previously chaired the Sales, Pro-Am and Membership Committees. He is founder and principal of Sikes Group, Inc., a Houston based architectural and project consulting firm. Veronica Levet is Chairperson of the Junior Golf Operating Committee. Active with HGA since 1999 she formerly headed the Shell Houston Open Parking and Mobility Committee. Employed by Shrieve Chemical Products, Inc., as Global Operations Manager, she participated in the Junior Golf Program as a teenager. Ted McElroy is Chairman of The First Tee of Greater Houston Operating Committee. McElroy, a practicing CPA for nearly 30 years, previously chaired the HGA Audit Committee. Active with HGA since 1992, McElroy previously served on the HGA Board from 2006 – 2008 as Treasurer/Assistant Secretary. HONORARY DIRECTOR Terry Russ Jr., is a retired principal in the civil engineering firm of Edminster, Hinshaw, Russ and Associates. An HGA member since 1967 and former Tournament Chairman, he was named an honorary director in 2002. There have been only three honorary directors appointed since 1946. INDEPENDENT DIRECTOR Mary Bass is a partner with the executive search firm SpencerStuart whose search practice focuses on board, CEO/COO positions. A member of ShadowHawk Golf Club, she served as the General Chairman for the 2005 USGA Women's Mid-Amateur Tournament. Michael McShane is currently affiliated with Advent International, a global private equity firm, as an Operating Partner. He is the former Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Grant Prideco, Inc., a $2 billion global manufacturer of drill pipe, drill bits and premium tubular products.
Joe Ogilvie is a PGA TOUR player who resides in Austin. He is a former Player Director on the PGA TOUR policy board and current member of the Player Advisory Council. He became an independent director after the 2006 Shell Houston Open. He holds an Economics Degree from Duke University.
SHELL DESIGNATED DIRECTORS Jesse Saldivar represents Shell Oil Company, title sponsor of the Shell Houston Open. He is Sr. Advisor US Business Affairs, and previously served as a Joint Venture (JV) manager for the company. Chris Normyle represents Shell Oil Company, title sponsor of the Shell Houston Open. He is Manger of Sponsorships and Events and is the HGA's primary contact for the Shell Houston Open.
